Borneo Bird Festival

Kinabalu Park will serve as host to the Borneo Bird Festival this coming October 5 to 7. The festivity includes Bird Race, Bird Photography, Birdwatching Competition, and Guided Birdwalk. It is most suitable for a family escape because children will be entertained to attend the Children’s Bird Camp, Rock Paintings, Creative Bird Drawing, and Batik Painting activities aimed to raise their awareness of bird care, conservation, and eco-tourism. It is loaded with other fun activities that will most definitely give you a treat far from your busy city life.

Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon

Adventure travelers will be excited to join this popular event, which began in the year 1987 after a team of rescue squad was created by Sabah Parks as aid to injured climbers. Since then, it has been attended by numerous participants until it gained recognition and was officially admitted as a member of the international body for the promotion of sports altitude, International Skyrunning Federation, in the year 2003. This year, the event will take place on the 13th until the 14th of October and offers a spectacular view of Kinabalu’s summit peaks, river valleys, plus a chance to meet the unique flora and fauna of this lush sub-tropical forest.

Borneo Safari International Off Road Challenge

The fun never ends for the month of October in Sabah as the Borneo Safari International Off Road Challenge starts on the 24th and ends on the 4th of November. The expedition will cross through the heart of Sabah allowing participants to traverse valleys, rivers, mountains, streams while testing their stamina, skill, and endurance. This is not for the faint of heart but is meant for off-road enthusiasts who enjoy touring the wild without destroying the natural habitat of the animals.

These three events in October will fill your itinerary. Schedule your flight to Sabah and enjoy the warmth of the East while you enjoy variety of outdoor fun and adventure in its midst.
